My portrait peice is a charcoal drawing of my twin sister when she was younger. I definitely took a risk in the process of making this piece. I decided to use charcoal- one of my least favorite materials. I have very little experience using charcoal and I was sort of nervous, but once I got the hang of it I really enjoyed it. By using an unfamiliar material, I developed my art making skills. Maybe I will choose to use charcoal on a future project.
